The Pathway North Survival Shovel is an absolute must-have for outdoor enthusiasts. Its stainless steel construction is solid and durable, making it perfect for heavy-duty digging, chopping, and even self-defense if needed. The folding design is compact, yet it unfolds into a fully functional and ergonomic tool. What sets this apart is the multi-tool functionality—it’s packed with features like a saw, fire starter, and bottle opener, and the included flashlight is a game-changer. Whether you’re camping, hiking, or tackling emergency situations, this tool does it all. It’s lightweight, easy to carry, and incredibly practical.A fantastic piece of equipment for anyone who loves the outdoors or wants to be prepared for anything! Highly recommended!

Ok, I’m 6’2” and some of the tools I’ve seen like unlike this one are just too short for me. Even on my knees digging would be a chore. I really like the length of the shovel and how it can be used to make a longer handle for the axe as well. The is a really great set up with lots of camping uses. A shovel, an axe, teeth for sawing small limbs, a blade for chopping or scraping, a compass in the handle (leather strap), a hammer, a screw driver, a blade that can be secured in the handle and a compartmented pouch that holds all the pieces. I’ve always liked James Bond’s cool gadgets and this is a really practical bag of tools that reminds me of 007 spy gadgets. Super product that feels sturdy from a seller who showed great customer service by getting the product shipped right away and professional contact by email to verify I received and happy with it. If you have a go back or camper this is something you will want to have with you.

First, I would like to introduce myself and my credentials so that this review is in context. I have taught Wilderness survival and first aid, former Navy, former SAR team member for local Sheriff department, and a former paramedic. Now the review:Disclaimer: I haven’t had the chance to use this in a real life camping or hiking situation yet, but will update the review once I have.As wilderness experts are wont to say, “a multi-tool is multiple subpar tools bundled for convenience not survival.” The Pathway North Folding Shovel & Axe Multitool set demonstrate the truth of that statement.First, the good:• This thing is cool.• It looks great and feels great in my hand, whether the shovel or the hatchet.• The weight is good.• The stability is good.• The blades on the shovel, hatchet head, and knife are sharper than I would have expected.• The compass works well.• The MOLLE pack is quality and the zipper is sound.• The ferro rod is threaded for easy replacement.Second, the not so good:• The knife attachment is good steel but is mounted to a plastic threaded piece for screwing into one of the tubes. Why they opted to use plastic for this piece, I have no idea. Why not make it all one steel piece? The plastic threads are thin and I can imagine any heavy use of this knife in the wilderness will ruin the threads.• The hex port for the supplied screw driver attachment (both Phillips and flat head) is also plastic. In my initial experiments with the tool, I used the screw driver and on a tight crank, the attachment slipped in the plastic sleeve. A few times of this, and there wouldn’t be anything stopping the attachment from free spinning in the hex port.• The instruction manual is very basic.• Made in china, but what isn’t these days.Overall, I like the tool and it is adequate for keeping in the car for those, hopefully rare, occasions where you find yourself stranded.
