As with many emergency preparedness foods, this one is expensive. However, the freeze dried products reconstitute much better than dehydrated, so I wanted my daughter to have the better quality. We have our own freeze drying unit, so we fully understand how expensive the equipment, supplies, and food is that goes into freeze drying, and for the quality this was a reasonably priced product. I hope she never needs to use it!

I’d buy it again just to have the nutritional value with a 25-year shelf life but if you’re looking for individual servings, look elsewhere. Each package is several “servings” so if you’re solo or just a couple, you’ll have to deal with resealing leftovers. Also, a large percentage of the “servings” are drinks so be aware that this kit won’t sustain your survival as long as you might think. I will keep mine to supplement my M.R.E’s and canned/ dry food stash though.
