Just got it today, but I’m actually really impressed at the value of this knife. I’m a bit of a Benchmade fan, so this review may be a little biased, but I will only compare this knife to other Benchmade folders, and will explain why it’s a great value in comparison. So, I have a barrage, a rift, a contego, a bugout, and now this. The contego is an entirely different animal in my opinion, mostly due to the steel it uses and its pric, so it will not be included. In comparison to weight, the presido outweighs the rift and barrage by a few grams, but its a bit larger than both so it honestly feels lighter. Its heavier and thicker than the bugout, but uses the same steel. In my opinion, I don’t like the bugout much. It just doesn’t seem like a knife that you can do a lot of work with. This knife feels like I could chop down a tree with it (don’t actually try that though). I trust this knife over the bugout hands down any day of the week.Compared to the rift, I say this wins as well. 154cm steel is good steel. It’ll hold an edge well and isn’t terrible to sharpen, although a little time consuming. I think the rift is a beautiful knife, especially with the blue g10 handles, and it’s pretty comfortable ergonomically. However, this knife is more robust and feel more sturdy in your hand, plus it’s scales are tough. I mean g10 is nothing to scoff at, but these are lighter and feel extremely tough. Now, to compare it to my favorite knife, the barrage. Man, I buy so many knives trying to find one that I like better than this and nothing has stood up. Its so comfortable, the spring assist slides open like a curling stone on ice, and the blade is made of good steel and can take a bit of abuse. I always revert back to this knife after carrying something new for a while. That said, I have yet to really put this through its paces but I have high hopes. S30v is amazing steel, but dear lord does it suck to sharpen. However, once it’s sharp it will last a while, plus you can send it in to benchmade to sharpen if you’d like. This is larger than the barrage and not spring assisted. That said, it still works well one handed. The axis locks Benchmade uses make opening and closing with either hand go off without a hitch. Plus, you don’t have to put your fingers in front of the blade to close it. Again, this is more robust, but man does it feel solid.Best part, it’s one of the cheaper benchmade knives but has premo stee6

It’s a large knife but not overly so. The material for the grip makes it light-weight for the strength and size, not so much that it feels like a toy though. It feels confident and ready for anything. The blade is sharp and holds an edge well. There is zero blade play when locked open, and the lock is STRONG. It stuck open a bit out of the box, making it difficult to close but after oiling and break in its perfect now. The action is smooth and consistent. It’s my new favorite knife, tied with my Benchmade bedlam. The bedlam is an eccentric knife though, so this one will fill the normal EDC role. I’m in love with this thing. Benchmade has yet disappoint!

I’ve owned a few EDC knives over the years. Mini ones, full size ones, and in-between. The Benchmade Presidio 2 is far and away the best I’ve ever owned. For a bigger knife, the weight is not that noticeable. The shape of this tactical blade is good for almost anything you can think of using it for, and the handle is grippy. This knife is also tough. I’ve out it through some scenarios that would have busted others, and it still keeps working buttery smooth and retains it’s edge well. BUY THIS KINFE!
